Well the crew at CSEPprep went to see 'The Martian' in 3D at the movie theaters. We can't recommend it enough but strongly encourage reading the book first. As far as we can tell, Mark Watney is the biggest Systems Engineer to grace the big screens.

We strongly encourage all our many customers and students to pick up a copy. You'll notice from beginning to end how Systems Engineering is so very important to fictitious astronaut Mark Watney's survival attempt. But does it have a good ending?

An important note from INCOSE regarding the publication of ISO 15288, the "in press" publication of SEHv4, and exam content transition dates follows this paragraph. CSEPprep is working diligently to update its database in preparation of the exam content transition to SEHv4 in January 2016. Because the official exam content transition to SEHv4 is not until January 2016 and SEHv3.2 is a known and surmountable challenge, CSEPprep recommends focusing and preparing for SEHv3.2 until January:

"ISO 15288 was published on 15 May 2015.  The INCOSE SE Handbook version 4 (SEHv4) is directly linked to this international standard, and we now anticipate SEHv4 being published mid July.  The INCOSE Certification exam based on SEHv4 will be available at Prometric centers starting on 13 July 2015.  In addition, we are going to continue offering the current exam, based on SE Handbook version 3.2 through 31 December 2015.  Extended transition schedules are available for candidates from Germany, Korea and China. The current exam will remain our default for all candidates unless they submit Form 10, New Exam Request to us indicating their desire to test on the new exam prior to the mandatory transition in January 2016.  There will be a short blackout period in early January when no exams should be taken."

Earlier this week, the international standard (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015) that INCOSE bases its handbook on passed balloting and is nearing publication. This is exciting news as the Fourth Edition of the SE handbook should follow shortly after the publication of 15288. Please keep in mind that on 13 July 2015 the INCOSE certification exam will transition to version 4 of the SE Handbook (CSEPprep.com is eagerly awaiting the new version of the handbook and will update the application software accordingly). While we expect that there will be no significant changes in knowledge, we urge you to carefully consider when you plan on taking the certification exam. From 1 July to 12 July 2015, there is an exam "blackout," meaning that no student can take an exam as INCOSE prepares the new exam at prometric testing sites. Your eligibility period for taking the CSEP or ASEP exam lasts one year. If your one year of eligibility spans the transition to version 4 of the SE Handbook, (e.g., you're eligible to take the exam from 4 April 2015 to 3 April 2016) you need to decide which version of the exam you will take. We strongly suggest giving yourself at least one month to prepare for the exam. This gives you enough time to study the proper version of the handbook, reflect on your systems engineering experience, and use CSEPprep.com's proven preparation software.

Here at CSEPprep.com we love this youtube clip of a scene from a 1998 HBO film called the ‘Pentagon Wars.’ Although a satire, the movie brilliantly depicts how poor systems engineering, in this case, within the framework of the defense acquisition process, and politics, perhaps more than any other factor, can unintentionally produce ill-fated systems: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXQ2lO3ieBA. No one ever said multi-year, multi-million dollar projects would be easy, but imagine if everyone involved in the project – and that is a lot of people – had an INCOSE CSEP certification; we like to think that better systems would be produced.
